Future sea-level rise threatens coastal areas around the globe. In an attempt to quantify this risk in the United states, the USGS constructed a coastal vulnerability index (CVI) based on six physical variables:
Ultimately, this index highlights those regions where the various effects of future sea-level rise might be the greatest. This tool offers the flexibility to explore the data at the state level, rather than a regional one. It also allows you to interact with the individual variables and download state-level data using the button in the linked visualization.
